Just finished unlocking Revenant's full story in Elden Ring Nightreign, and boy oh boy, what a rollercoaster! As a day-one player who's been grinding since the 2025 launch, I've tackled most content, but there's something special about these character Remembrances that hits different. They're not just side quests—they're emotional journeys that make you actually care about these digital warriors.

The Hunt Begins

So there I was, hanging around the Roundtable Hold like the no-life gamer I am, when I discovered the journal in the southeast room. This little beauty is your gateway to character Remembrances—deep dives into your companions' tragic backstories. Because nobody in FromSoftware games has ever had a happy childhood, am I right?

First step was tracking down Duchess and Guardian. Easy enough with those handy exclamation points marking them. Duchess needed two conversations (because apparently nobody in this game can say everything they need to in one go), then Guardian sent me on a fetch quest. Classic.

Guardian's task? Take down Gladius, Beast of the Night—or Tricephalos as the cool kids call it—and bring back a fragment of its weapon. The game doesn't hold your hand here. No convenient map marker, just a "go kill this specific boss" instruction.

I went in with my usual strategy—which is to say, no strategy whatsoever—and somehow managed to defeat Tricephalos after only... well, let's just say "several" attempts. Handed the weapon piece to Guardian, and boom! First Remembrance stage complete.

Diving Into Revenant's Mind

After filling in Chapter 5 of Revenant's journal, things got weird. Like, FromSoftware weird. The Duchess mentioned some mysterious ailment affecting Revenant, so off I went to chat with Recluse. Next thing I know, I'm sitting on a bench and literally diving into Revenant's mind.

This part gave me serious Bloodborne vibes—creepy mansion, eerie atmosphere, the works. I mean, could they be any more obvious with the references? Not that I'm complaining!

At the end of a long hallway, I found a small room with a past version of Revenant. Approaching her triggered a boss fight against something called the Corrosion.

The fight was surprisingly manageable. Enemies kept spawning and... get this... they would charge and explode when you got too close. So naturally, I did what any tactical genius would do: I ran around like a headless chicken, baiting them into blowing each other up. Work smarter, not harder, folks!

The Final Confrontation

The last stage hit me in the feels, not gonna lie. Back to Recluse, another bench-sitting session, and I'm transported to the mansion again—but this time it's in shambles during a storm. Very subtle metaphor there, FromSoft...

The final boss, the Contaminant, wasn't too tough. You start at level 8 with 4 healing flasks (thanks for the handicap, I guess?). Frederick, my MVP summon, tanked like a champ while I danced around avoiding that nasty spit attack that covers the floor in damaging miasma.

The story's conclusion was... well, it's a FromSoftware game. Let's just say nobody's planning a beach vacation with a happy ending. Classic tragic backstory that explains why Revenant is so determined to take down the Nightlords.

The Goodies

For all that emotional trauma, at least the rewards were decent:

Remembrance Stage Reward My Useless Commentary
Stage 1 Small Makeup Brush Because looking fabulous while slaying monsters is priority #1
Stage 2 Revenant's Chalice Blue and Green relic slots plus a wildcard slot? Chef's kiss
Stage 3 Old Portrait Relic Mysterious but effective
Complete All Alternate Skin Basically the same but with her arms showing. Revolutionary stuff!

The relics make Revenant an absolute beast as a support character. Being able to fully heal allies when they're about to kick the bucket? That's clutch.

So there you have it—Revenant's Remembrance in all its tragic glory. Was it worth the emotional damage? Absolutely.

If you haven't tackled any character Remembrances yet, what are you even doing with your Elden Ring Nightreign experience? These side quests add so much depth to the characters that it transforms them from generic NPCs into people you actually care about. Or maybe I'm just getting too attached to pixels on a screen. Wouldn't be the first time...

Ready to dive into Revenant's troubled past yourself? Grab your controller, find that journal, and prepare for some serious feels. Drop a comment below with which character's Remembrance you're tackling next—I'm working through Guardian's now and could use some tips! Let's compare notes and maybe help each other avoid the 47 deaths I suffered to that darn Contaminant. 😅
